Living on a farm with 5 dogs, 5 chickens and 6 kids Rick
never finds a quiet moment. His office was opposite of his farm. It was quiet,
clean, and most importantly kid and animal free. Walking into his office everything
had a place. The pens all lined up, the water in the fridge all facing the same
way, and the papers perfectly stacked. Just by walking into his space you right
away notice he is a family man, he has pictures of all his kids with Drawings and
colorings from when they were little. As Rick walked in he laughed saying “I’m
sure if you look hard enough you could find candy my kids left here”. Even though
Rick looked serious with his suit and tie and even a little intimidating standing
at 6’2 he has the power to walk into a room and make everyone laugh.
After working on my word web, I have decided to write about
Rick Bertram and his career as a hotel general manager. Rick Is also my Father.
I see him as a funny, loving, caring, overall great dad. In this essay, I am
going to be learning about his other side, his manager side.
Museum Missionary exemplifies a profile essay because its
key components. This essay contains, Inquiry, motives, subject matter,
structure, and a source of information.
The evidence presented in this essay to show “that David Mills
was a person who found an unusual channel for his religious faith” is found
when David talks about how God told him to go to Main and build the Museum he
had been wanting.
I enjoyed reading both profile essays. Passengers, the
author has no presence. He is completely focused on his subject about 9/11 and
his passengers. Museum Missionary, the author was completely present. While reading,
you can see the relationship he is building while interviewing. I will have
some presence in my profile essay.
